Global Warming Is Our Fault Once Again

Post written by: Mike

Those stupid scientists. Just when people started to buy into the theory that the sun was responsible for the global warming over the last 20 years or so, the scientists come out and say that in fact the sun is not to blame. Well, maybe not in fact, but at least in theory.

It looks like the responsibility falls back to us and those methane producing cows for a while.

So I made a little checklist of things I need to get better about doing to maybe do my small part to help the situation. Nothing as dramatic as buying a new hybrid car or solar panels. I’m sticking with real stuff that I really have a chance of doing.

  • Talk to the family about turning off lights when we leave the room.
  • Keep replacing lights with CFL bulbs when they burn out.
  • Hope I get to stay with my current client who is letting me work from home which saves 2+ hours in the car each work day.
  • Get the tires on my bike fixed so I can use it for little trips to the nearby stores.
  • Go through this list that contains information about how to get off of a bunch of mailing lists to reduce the amount of paper that enters my house only to get thrown in the recycle bin unread.
  • Remember to take the train on the rare occasion that we go into the city.
  • Eat plenty of hamburgers to help reduce the population of methane producing cows.

What are some of the other easy, every day, normal people type of things that I can do to recycle, reuse, renew?

I can think of a couple off the top of my head. First, accelerate slowly in your car (don’t just gun it when the light turns green).

Second - use the AC when driving on the highway rather than rolling down the windows. the increased wind-resistance actually burns more gas than the AC would.

They don’t know them self what is really wrong, we are in the same sh** like people thought the earth is flat :)

Some people 10-20 years later will laugh at us not knowing many scientific stuff :)
